Eye See You: Our Way of Giving Back

The power of a small business lies in the independence of its workers, uniqueness of its product assortment and the human-centered nature of its services. With such a close personal tie to their customers, small businesses directly feel the effects of social events and fluctuations. The Optical Foundry is here to help find a solution and help our customers to support independent optical communities during challenging times. 

At The Optical Foundry, we stand for clear vision—which includes seeing when people around the world need our help. In May 2020, we started our Eye See You program to help communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the years since, it has evolved into a support channel for various humanitarian, health and social causes, both in the U.S. and globally. 

The Optical Foundry Partners with Phillips Eye Institue in Support of Back-to-School Eye Care 

For over a decade, The Optical Foundry has proudly partnered with the Phillips Eye Institute’s mobile clinic to provide eyewear to children in need. In 2024, the Kirby Puckett Mobile Eye Clinic paid a special visit to our headquarters in New Hope, where we donated over 700 frames from our OGI and OGI Kids brands, ensuring pupils could begin the school year with confidence and style.

While The Optical Foundry supports a range of initiatives through its Eye See You programme, this collaboration is significant. “With this partnership, we’re supporting children right here in our local community — in the hometown we care so deeply about,” says Greg Hodgson, Director of Operations at The Optical Foundry.

 

As the clinic’s exclusive eyewear provider, The Optical Foundry ensures each child receives a personalised experience. Rather than choosing from a limited selection, pupils are offered a wide range of styles, allowing them to find frames that reflect their individuality. “Our mission has always been to design high-quality, expressive eyewear that amplifies the wearer’s personality,” Hodgson adds. “Seeing a child light up when they find the perfect pair is a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do.”

Since 2020, The Optical Foundry has donated more than 2,000 frames — including 1,000 in August 2024 and another 1,000 in July 2025 — with a total retail value exceeding $2 million. Every pair represents our commitment to vision, community, and helping young people thrive.
