The Great Lake is closer to Pennsylvania and Ohio, but Minnesota has its own Eries. A small unincorporated community called Erie lies in Pennington County with the larger Erie Township residing in Becker County. Lake Erie, in Meeker County just an hour west of Minneapolis, is roughly 190 acres, with 3.1 miles of shoreline and a depth of 34 feet. This lake is home to over 11 species of freshwater fish and is particularly good for finding Largemouth Bass.
