  • OGI Eyewear 2023 Recap

Holy Buckets, it has been a busy year here at OGI Eyewear. With new styles, a fantastic growing sales team, and our continued community partnerships, it’s been a wild and fun ride at team OGI! In the summer, we launched our best-in-class virtual try-on app, a tool we designed to serve our independent optical partners. These optical professionals gave us the honor of naming us as an Ultimate Business Partner in Vision Monday and 20/20, and in the fall we had an absolute blast at Vision Expo West in September. We are closing out this year with more new releases expanding and continuing the unique stories of OGI, Red Rose, Seraphin, SCOJO New York, and Article One. OGI continued its colorful trail straight to the hearts of patients and optical professionals, blending vibrant tones with wearable patterns in our custom acetate colors. Seraphin has evolved the idea of vintage-inspired eyewear to redefine modern luxury. Article One introduced its Active x Optical collection, bringing the beloved sports-minded design elements from their Active Suns to classic, sophisticated optical styles. Our capsule collections Red Rose by OGI and Seraphin Shimmer have found their sweet spots, expressing exciting and modern takes on eyewear, and our ready-to-wear SCOJO Newy York readers continue to be some of the most exciting in the field. Just like at Disneyland, everyone can find something fun and exciting for them with OGI Eyewear! Representing this treasure trove of product, our sales team has grown, continuing to provide our independent optical partners with top-notch service. Cynthia McWilliams has energized and motivated our team, and her expertise and passion were recognized by Vision Monday when they named her one of the Most Influential Women in Optical. We were able to celebrate both Cynthia’s and the full sales team’s accomplishments in sunny Miami this November at our annual Sales Convention. The team had a Ball (of Twine) at our annual sales meeting, honing our skills and connecting over our ambitions for another great year at OGI Eyewear. To support our Account Executives, and the Independents they serve, we launched a virtual try-on app in the summer, after years of hard work. This one-of-a-kind tool brings the full OGI Eyewear collection to any compatible smartphone or tablet, so no matter the size of an optical practice, they’ll have the biggest frameboard in town, and be able to streamline the ordering process. Just as we invest in our optical partners, we also invest in our broader community through our Eye See You Program. Over the year, our different brands partnered with a variety of organizations to help those in need. OGI Eyewear donated 10,000 dollars to Optometry Giving Sight, an organization dedicated to increasing access to vision care through educating optical professionals, establishing vision clinics, and supporting low-sision and blind individuals. SCOJO New York created a special color of our Gels Original frame to raise proceeds for the H Foundation to support their work in fighting cancer. Article One celebrated Pride Month in partnership with their brand ambassador Nikki Hiltz, by raising money for Stand With Trans, an organization dedicated to empowering young trans people. “This year we’ve continued to develop our exclusive OGI Eyewear sales team, our commitment to supporting them as they develop connections with independent optical practices, and our investment in uplifting optical providers with innovative product and thorough service. In 2024, our job is to spread that message, and let the independent community know we are here for them,” said Optical Foundry CEO Rob Rich as he reflected on 2023. 2024 is here, and we can’t wait for what’s to come. Be sure to find us on social media @ogieyewear @seraphineyewear @redroseeyewear @scojonewyork @articleoneeyewear to keep up with everything to come. • OGI Eyewear’s Spring 2023 Frame Lineup Bring New Colors, Shape Directions, and Moods

xfEvery season is a new opportunity to reflect the zeitgeist, and OGI Eyewear pulls no punches with its latest collections’ bold shapes and daring color combinations. MINNEAPOLIS, February 1, 2023—OGI Eyewear, the premium fashion eyewear design company, has announced its 2023 spring collection, made up of OGI, Seraphin, Seraphin Shimmer, Red Rose by OGI, and OGI Kids frames. Spring is always the time to move forward, and this season, OGI Eyewear is both reflecting and defining the eyewear market as it blends more fashion flair, adventurous styles, and fun looks than ever before. This sixth collection designed by David Duralde, the company’s Chief Creative Officer, responds to customer demand by embracing a full range of self-expression. “Every season is an expression and progression of how a person feels about the world,” Duralde says. “With this collection, I’ve purposefully taken in various influences: where people are in terms of fashion, their mood about the state of things, and their place in life. It’s all about meeting them there and offering frames that will accentuate their individuality and spark optimism.” The OGI Collection This spring, the OGI collection has its most daring flavors yet. “Last season was colorful and bold, but this season, we amped things up even more,” Duralde says. “The market has now moved forward with more expressive shapes and more exciting color combinations. People are now realizing that full expression is okay—something we wholeheartedly embrace.” The OGI collection’s acetate frames embody a mixture of delight, humor, and style—all taken to the next level. They pair solid colors, embrace color blocking, and use vivid and kinetic versions of tortoise patterns, all while refraining from being esoteric. As Duralde explains, “We’re always thinking of the person wearing the frame and how they might want to express themselves. The goal is to give them something contemporary and accessible—playful yet not too assertive. That’s OGI.” And don’t forget about OGI Kids. As always, these frames are a scaled-down version of OGI’s adult approach—a great way for kids to look and feel grown-up. The Seraphin Collection This spring’s Seraphin collection digs deeper than ever, exploring new expressions with crafted hardware, metal details, and embellishments, all formed in ways that feel both functional and integrated with the design aesthetic. “The most important update is that we’ve done some layering with the acetate to reveal custom patterned temple core wires,” Duralde says. “Temples can reveal and showcase the layers of architecture and design in each style, as you see inside the rich componentry. When you look through transparent pieces, you can see the influence of timeless craftsmanship and the nod to the industrial design evolution epoch at the turn of the century in America. These peek-a-boo elements reveal the core quality and luxury behind each design.” The Luxury hand extends even further with the acetate’s beveled edges, rounded profiles, and hand-polished finish. These unisex frames don’t just feel good; they’re solid, logical, and always fashionable with a familiar feel and modern twist. Crafted in Japan, they exude a level of quality you can actually touch. Within the Seraphin collection is the women’s capsule collection, Seraphin Shimmer—styles that radiate true glam and elegance. This season, the frames’ Austrian crystals are selected in colors that create a tonal and textural arrangement. “We took a more fashion-forward approach with the crystals to accentuate both the younger side and the swank appeal,” Duralde explains. “You’ll definitely want to take a second look when Seraphin Shimmer is in the house.” The Red Rose by OGI Collection Transparency, translucency, and neutral tones dominate the spring 2023 Red Rose collection. These unisex frames are an exploration in modern eyewear trends. They scale down recent oversized and thin-metal styles into frames that are more wearable and less eccentric, celebrating modern, organic form and fashion for men and women. Red Rose by OGI reminds us that simplicity is in, and a new luxurious idiom can be extolled and celebrated. These styles honor the perspective that fashion gestures don’t have to be synthetic; they can be innate, pure, and uncompromising. Red Rose frames are for the generation of people who have found their voice, style, and courage to simply be. • Shining a Spotlight on Phillips Eye Institute for World Sight Day 2022

World Sight Day is an international day of awareness dedicated to eye health, held every October by the The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB). The impact of eye health goes beyond good vision: it can affect education, employment, physical and even social well-being. Affordable, inclusive access to eye care is critical to maintaining good eye health, and this year the IAPB is calling for individuals, governments and organizations to come together to support universal access to eye care. This World Sight Day, we at OGI Eyewear wish to recognize Phillips Eye Institute as an organization that has been doing exactly that. How Phillips Eye Institute supports universal eye care through the E.Y.E Community Initiative program In 2008, Phillips Eye Institute founded the Early Youth Eyecare (E.Y.E.) Community Initiative to make vision care accessible for students enrolled in Minneapolis public schools. The program expanded In 2014 to include schools in St. Paul and to serve a wider age range of youth. That same year, the Kirby Puckett Eye Mobile (KPEM) was established as a traveling eye clinic to service schools on-site, complete with two full examination rooms and optical shop. E.Y.E provides screenings to students from pre-kindergarten through the beginning of ninth grade. Any additional exams, surgeries, or new or replacement glasses required are coordinated and funded through the E.Y.E. program. Transportation and interpreter services are also available to students as needed. The impact of E.Y.E is staggering. Since its inception, almost eight thousand students have been beneficiaries of E.Y.E. Over 2,100 frames have been dispensed since the 2018-2019 school year—including the period of distance learning due to COVID-19 restrictions. Over the 2021-2022 school year, E.Y.E has completed over 23,000 screenings, assisted over 1,000 students with vision care and provided 620 pairs of glasses; this 2022-2023 school year, Phillips Eye Institute is poised to do the same. Cheryle Atkin, Community Programs Supervisor at Phillips Eye Institute, stated, “Our program goal is to remove vision problems as a major roadblock to learning, and eliminate barriers to eye care. We aim to help parents and guardians advocate for their child’s vision care, and to provide the services necessary to allow all students to achieve their full potential.” OGI Eyewear’s commitment to supporting Phillips Eye Institute in its mission OGI Eyewear is proud to be a donor and partner of the Phillips Eye Institute through the Optical Foundry’s Eye See You giving program. Since beginning our engagement with E.Y.E. right at its inception, we’ve provided a retail value of over $2 million in frames from our OGI, Seraphin and OGI Kids collections. This year, OGI Eyewear donated 750 frames—a retail value of approximately $140,000. The donated frames permit E.Y.E to direct funds to other areas of care, amounting to thousands of dollars each year. And with vision referral rates climbing, OGI Eyewear’s contributions continue to amplify the E.Y.E. program’s impact. “By donating high-quality, trendy frames to E.Y.E., OGI Eyewear hopes not only to provide some financial flexibility to the Phillips Eye Institute, but also to enable the students who need their services to express their personal style with pride,” said Rob Rich, CEO of OGI Eyewear. Atkin commented, “E.Y.E. and KPEM are fully funded by the generosity of donors, and OGI Eyewear has supported our programs since inception. The OGI team is extremely community-minded, generous and easy to work with. Whatever we ask, they happily provide. We are hopeful that, as our programs continue to expand, OGI Eyewear will continue to be a key partner in providing vision care to students in our shared community.” OGI Eyewear remains committed to supporting our friends at Phillips Eye Institute in their mission, with the hope that one day everyone everywhere will have equal access to eye care.
